I was motivated to create NNote after experiencing some frustrations with the default Windows Sticky Notes. While it’s functional, it lacks the lightweight, distraction-free experience I wanted. My goal was to create something that would:
- Stay Always on Top: One-click option to keep the note on top of other windows.
- Easy Repositioning: A draggable interface to quickly move notes wherever they’re needed.
- Minimalistic Design: A clean, dark interface that doesn’t strain the eyes, perfect for extended use.
- Open Source: Unlike proprietary tools, NNote is free and open-source, which means anyone can modify it to fit their needs.
I wanted NNote to be a no-frills, easy-to-use tool that anyone can pick up and start using without needing to navigate complex menus or settings. It was intended to be a “sticky note” in the purest sense—a place for quick, easy, and distraction-free note-taking.
